How to complete your ethics self-assessment
What is this about?
These guidelines were developed by the European Comission and provide guidance on how to get a proposal ready for ethics approval. When following the recommendations in the document, the research proposal will be in line with international, European Union and national laws. The guidelines pay particular attention to the following research topics.
- Human embryos & foetuses
- Human beings
- Human cells or tissues
- Personal data
- Animals
- Non-EU countries
- Environment, health & safety
- Dual use
- Exclusive focus on civil applications
- Potential misuse of research results
- Other ethics issues
