|Is About=The study discusses an engineering ethics course which was included at Shantou University (STU) in 2008, within a Conceive-Design-Implement-Operate (CDIO) curriculum in China. The course included three issues important for China: engineers' social obligations, intellectual property and engineering safety criteria. Although, as authors emphasized, the assessment of the course's impact on students has its limitations, this effort is perceived as a positive step to sustain the CDIO reform of STU.
