|Is About=TiGRE (“Trust in Governance and Regulation in Europe”) is a Horizon 2020 research project that explores how trust is built, maintained, or lost in European regulatory systems. It focuses on three key sectors finance, food safety, and data protection across different levels of governance. The project brings together a multidisciplinary team of academics and practitioners to study interactions among regulators, firms, interest groups, courts, and citizens. Using a mixed-methods approach (surveys, experiments, case studies, focus groups, media analysis), TiGRE aims to uncover the drivers of trust, develop indicators of declining trust, and propose scenarios and policy recommendations to help institutions strengthen trust in regulation.
