The TRUST Code - a Global Code of Conduct for Equitable Research Partnerships
What is this about?
This code of conduct promotes ethical research in lower-income countries by advising on how to prevent so-called ‘ethics dumping’: the practice of performing unethical research in lower-income countries.
Why is this important?
Research should be done ethically, regardless of the setting it takes place in. Research participants in lower-income countries may be more vulnerable to exploitation due to their social-economic situation. Initiatives such as this code of conduct aim to help achieve the same ethical standards in research in both higher and lower-income countries.
