From case management to prevention of scientific dishonesty in Denmark
From case management to prevention of scientific dishonesty in Denmark
What is this about?
Denmark has had its share of serious scientific fraud that occured many years ago. It was, therefore, some widely published cases from the United States around 10 that motivated the Danish Medical Research Council to establish the Danish Committee on Scientific Dishonesty in November 12, a national committee covering health sciences[1].
Why is this important?
It was considered important that a broad spectrum of the health sciences was represented on the committee. The main reason for this was that decisions on honesty/dishonesty, being by their nature inexact and judgemental, must reflect the general culture in the research environment[1].
