In human subjects research people are used primarily to benefit others. Hence use of human beings needs justification. In the presentation included below, you will hear two perspectives on enrolling human beings for medical purposes.
Some scholars believe it is justified as long as researchers and sponsors avoid exploitation, others argue that people can be used for research purposes as long as their human dignity is respected, meaning that they are not used merely as a means.1
