What is this about?

This case describes how a high profile Chinese scientist, who at one point was the head of the research integrity initiative in China, become involved in a research scandal of his own work. Image manipulation expert, Elizabeth Bik, uncovered in 2013 that over 40 papers co-authored by the scientist appeared to be falsified. In several of his papers images appeared to be falsified.[1] An overview of the papers of the scientist, of which several are now retracted, can be found on PubPeer. [2]
